Two Jehovah's witnesses stopped by my door and stood there for a long time waiting for someone to come out. I remember one time telling them I was a
Buddhist so they'd leave me alone. Silly me! They started ranting about God this and that. I shut the door on their noses but that's not the point
here. Why do they go out and preach instead of actually help people? Isn't more important to bring love and peace and to help others achieve them instead
of walking a thousand block bothering people? What's the point in that? How are they contributing to the work of God ?
You want to be tolerant but when people try your patience it's really hard. I mean why not let others believe in what they want, they're gonna be damn forever right? So what do you care? Besides what are they doing here, they barely speak Spanish. Why don't they stay in that nutjob Utah state instead of coming all the way down here? Will there be plot conceived by one of their big leaders to take overt the world and take us all back to the 17th C? (the 18th C was dominated by Positivism so I think they'd like to go back then)
The worst part is that they try and convert people everywhere. My country is a secular one, although Catholics secured a place for themselves in the 2nd article of our Constitution back in the late 19th C, though they tried to cover it up by writing the third one where freedom of creed is established. In 1918 there was reform on Higher education granting that public education be free for all and secular and in the case of University they became autarchic entities, that is they are free territories where the state cannot intervene unless the Dean authorises it, sort of small independent states, but they're funded by the national government. I'm saying al this because we have seen several religious groups like these LDS people trying to talk us into joining them. I run into them once in a hall and as I noticed they were speaking English I thought they might be exchange students who were lost. They started to talking toe and then wouldn't let me go (three against one, that's not so fair, is it?) But I wanted to stay because I wanted to reason with them. They started talking about God and all their BS and after sucking up at me (what a weak mind they must have thought I had) when they asked "do you want to go to Heaven?" and I replied that I thought we were all going to the same place, that I didn't believe there was heaven or hell and if there was something close to the conception oh hell we were already in it. To what they retaliated, without any coherence BTW, "why should God let you in"? and I said "why shouldn't He?" I try to be a god person every day and do my best to do it. They kept reciting a speech that you could swear was tape recorder on their minds, they didn't even know what they were saying; they just repeat like parrots and shield behind their incoherent and even incohesive questions and answers. After practically half an hour of arguing I left them but it really irritated me that they should be allowed to be there, not that they had some permission but shouldn't they be kicked out of University for speaking about religion or for trying to convert others. University is a religion free territory unless it's up for discussion and debate. Bigoted arguments belongs anywhere but there. It just irritates me so much.
